Kala cotton is indigenous to Kutch and by default organic. It is one of the few genetically pure cotton species remaining in India. This desi cotton is a coarse, short-staple variety of cotton but the textiles woven using this cotton are strong, have an almost linen-like feel and get softer with every wash.
In Kutch every member of the weavers family contributes to the weaving of a final product from the spinning of the yarn to the weaving of the final product. Each product has a story to tell woven in the warp and weft, carefully crafted by artisans of Kutch making each one truly unique.
